Midweek Chart update - Wednesday 16th March 2011

Mid week chart updates are in, and its looking like Adele’s reign at the top of the singles charts with Someone Like You could be coming to an end. Her track is down to number 3 on the rundown with Nicole Sherzinger’s new single Don’t Hold Your Breath sitting at the top, just in front of the official Comic Relief single, Stay Gold Forever, by The Wanted.

It is also nice to see Parade’s debut Louder make top five. Pesonally, I hope that it stays there until the end of the week, as it would be great to have another girlband around doing the biz, releasing great tracks. This is a great song in my book, and I am happy that it is doing well.

On the album charts, she is just about holding onto the top spot, but is going to be pushed it seems all the way by the debut album by hotly tipped band The Vaccines (What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?). I knew there was a huge buzz around them, but to be fair, I was a little shocked to see it pushing her that strongly.

Will be interesting to see what happens by Sunday. Watch this space.
