American Idol elimination – the aftermath

Perez Hilton, Hollywood’s most famous internet blogger has reported that Pia Toscano, fresh from her shock elimination off Idol this week, has been spotted late this week getting out of a fancy car and going into a record labels offices.

The future sure does look bright for her, and I hope that she gets the record deal she thoroughly deserves. I for one would love to hear her album.

Let’s hope the rumours are true, and that the deal has already been done. Whoever signs her would have a bona-fide superstar on their books.

She could well share the same sort of success that the likes of Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson enjoyed, in spite of being eliminated in similar fashions in previous seasons.

I am still in shock that she got booted off Idol – the American public are just nuts!

The Billboard website has some rather interesting theories on why she (dubbed the "frontrunner of all frontrunners") was unceremoniously eliminated.

I would probably agree with all of those, except maybe the last one, as I thought she smashed the Tina Turner track. However, what has always been apparent on the X Factor, and now clearly on Idol, is that girls (the biggest share of the audience) just won't vote for other girls, choosing the heartthrobs instead. It may also be too much to claim it is the judges fault, but they have been very positive about everyone, which I think is more down to the talent, rather than them.

They certainly have not been anywhere near as brutal as Cowell would have been though.

I would say that the rest though are pretty much on the money.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
