On the UK midweeks, it looks as though Katy B’s debut drop “On A Mission” could push Adele far in the album race, even though it is expected to fall at the last hurdle, to allow Adele to make it 11 weeks at the pinnacle. If it reaches 11 consecutive weeks, it will be the first album since 1974 to do so, since Elton John’s “Greatest Hits” package. The only other real entry of note is Glasvegas’ Euphoric Heartbreak due to hit the top ten.
In the singles charts, it looks like J to the L – O will hold at the top with On The Floor, and LMFAO will rise one to second in the rundown. Katy Perry is at number 5 in the midweeks with E.T, up 7, and could rise further now that the video has dropped.
Over in the States, Britney Spears’ seventh studio release has replaced Chris Brown at the top of the rundown, who has slipped to number 4, behind Wiz Khalifa’s debut set “Rolling Papers” which is in at number 2, and Adeles “21” which is at 3. Katy Perry remains at the top of the singles rundown with her aforementioned track in front of the usual suspects (namely Gaga, Rihanna, and BEP) along with a number 4 slot for Cee-Lo Green’s F*** You which, even after 32 weeks on the chart, is going nowhere.
The figures seem to suggest that Adele’s “21” will also go back to the top spot on the album chart next week – is there any stopping that girl at the moment?
