Nightwish – Imaginarium

I have huge expectations for the Nightwish album, after the brilliance that was Dark Passion Play, which came out around 4 years ago. Nightwish have been holed away for some time working on the follow up, which will be the second album with new vocalist Annette Olzon. Progress was held up with her pregnancy, and I understand that the release has been pushed back from 2011 to the start of next year, to coincide with the release of a film of the same name, to which this album will soundtrack.

Sounds like it will be as hugely ambitious as we would expect from the mastermind that is Tuomas Holopainen, and I fully expect that it will live up to all levels of expectation as usual.

One of the most forward thinking bands around, who never fail to impress, I would expect this to be a HUGE record, and one that will undoubtedly catapult them back into the limelight, at the top of the symphonic metal pile.
