Circa Survive’s
ex-Saosin frontman goes solo with this, his second lone effort, whilst in
between records with his day job.
Mixing in a lot
of country, alt-folk influences, ultimately this record is pretty forgettable,
and lacks any real depth to make an impact.
It’s brightest
moment comes in the form of the collaboration with Canadian electro-songstress
Lights (“Just To Feel Alive”), but other than that, this one was destined to
the fast-forward button early on.
Doesn’t do much
for me I’m afraid.
Avoid
2/10
