When listening to the charts this past Sunday, little did I know that Adele's 10th consecutive week at number one on the album rundown is a record breaker. Apparently it has now surpassed the record set by Madonna with her Immaculate Collection album in 1990, which stayed at the top for 9 years.
That is 21 years worth of albums that have not been at the top spot for as long as her, and that is something quite remarkable.
Considering she thought that career-defining moment at the Brit Awards back in February would be a catastrophe, by her own admission, to see the effect it has had is something very special indeed.
Well done to her!
