Album streams

In something that is becoming a fad at the moment, a lot of bands are streaming latest releases online around the time of its official release, which is just a brilliant idea. It gets them more exposure, and it gives the fans a chance to sample before the album itself drops, and before they decide on whether or not to buy it.

In doing so though, the music is essentially reaching a much larger audience, and people who perhaps would not buy a particular album, are able to listen to it, and perhaps fall in love with it, when they wouldn’t necessarily get the chance to normally.

It is a genius idea, and could well be the shape of things to come in the future.

Over the course of the last few weeks, the latest albums from The Blackout, Foo Fighters, HelloGoodbye, Panic! At The Disco, Within Temptation, and Green Day have all been streaming online for web users to listen to, and that is only scaping the surface. So many bands these days stream releases, or add them to their Facebook and Myspace pages, using the power of the internet to reach a global audience.

More and more bands are resulting to this method of getting their music out, and the end result is that that fans have access to more free music than ever before – which HAS to be a good thing!!
