Chart action – Sunday 3rd April 2010

In the album charts, Adele is once more immovable at the top of the pile with her keeping hold of the top two spots for yet another week. “21” has now been at the peak of the charts for 10 weeks consecutively. Ronan and Burt Bacharach hit the third spot, obviously picking up a lot of sales in the run up to Mother’s Day.

Mary Byrne who came fifth on the X Factor last year starts at a more than respectable 6th on the rundown with her debut collection “Mine and Yours”.

Britney Spears’ latest album, “Femme Fatale” was supposed to challenge Adele all the way, but limps into the top 10 at number 8.

As expected, J-Lo takes the top spot on the singles chart with the club banger “On The Floor” pushing Adele’s “Someone Like You” to number two. LMFAO’s awesome “Party Rock Anthem” completes the top three, moving up a mammoth 19 spots on the chart.

Over on the Billboard, Katy Perry and Kanye West debut at the top spot with their collaboration, “E.T.” while over on the album charts, Chris Brown’s meltdown on Good Morning America didn’t stop him hitting the top spot with F.A.M.E, beating Jennifer Hudson’s “I Remember Me” to the pinnacle.

The new album from Britney Spears hits next week over in the States, and is expected to go straight to the top spot, so it will be interesting to see if Chris Brown can hold on.
