In case you missed it, this past Sunday, 71,000+ WWE fans rammed themselves into the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, USA for The Showcase of the Immortals.
It comes but once a year, and that event is Wrestlemania, one of the biggest events in the global sporting calendar. It is without a doubt, the Superbowl of wrestling, and this year there was plenty to get excited about.
Triple H v The Undertaker completely stole the show, being one of the greatest matches of all time.
It was one for the ages.
You could simply not take your eyes off the action, which was captivating from the very moment it started. The Undertaker held on to his streak, just, and is now 19-0 at Wrestlemania. Triple H however did put him through one hell of a battle, and he had to leave the arena on a stretcher. A worthy main event, and should have finished the show (much like the HBK/Taker matches should of at the last two Mania's).
Absolutely breathtaking.
Special stuff.
I wasn't a fan of how the main event ended (Edit - a few days removed, it now kind of makes sense - see post 5/5 re The Rock v Cena) nor the Michael Cole v Jerry Lawler match, which was a bit ridiculous.
On another note, it was awesome to see the likes of J.R. and The King on commentary again (indeed, back where they belong), Trish Stratus, Stone Cold, and The Rock all on one PPV.
This was another pretty special moment for the old-school contingent . . .
(dodgy clip though - love the ending - who in the blue hell is "Steve Cole"?!? Haha!)
Goosebumps moment for sure . . .
