The Beatrix Players

Here is another review that I did for The Sentinel recently on a single by The Beatrix Players.

The Beatrix Players – Unpolished Pearl

The Beatrix Players are a folk band who are now based in the big city of London , but their singer is originally from Blurton, Staffordshire. The group have strong origins locally, forming at Staffordshire University 7 years ago. Unpolished Pearl is a track from their next album, which is pencilled in for an April release this year.

It is a beautiful, piano driven song, which showcases the delicate vocals of lead singer Amy White to great effect. Her melancholy tones add a somewhat classical feel to this track, operating over grandiose piano playing by her bandmates, along with majestic string accompaniment towards the end. It is a strong track, which hints at great things for the album, and will definitely be worth picking up on its release.

They have recently entered an international music competition, The Peoples Music Awards, where they can really show their talent against the worlds best, so if you like what you hear, go and vote for them!
